Robert and Claire Symington have been farming Seldom Seen Farm in the beautiful Leicestershire countryside for over 40 years and they are renowned for producing delicious free-range geese and traditional Norfolk bronze turkeys.
The importance of cooking with excellent quality ingredients comes naturally to Claire, as her background was as head cook at Leith’s Good Food in London.

During the Summer and Autumn we rear geese and turkeys on free range. Our geese are fed on home-grown grain and potatoes as well as grass, helping to give them a distinctive flavour and golden skin. They are hand plucked and hung for 10 days for a more mature traditional taste.
Our farm shop opens for Christmas on the 21st December and as well as geese and turkeys, you’ll find a whole array of festive fayre. We’re open from 9.30 a.m. until 5.00 p.m. each day and you can collect your produce up to 12 noon on Christmas Eve.
Right from summer 2000 when I visited Seldom Seen Farm I have been a great fan of the Symington's fabulous geese.
I must confess, from having had turkey every Christmas at that point, now thanks to Seldom Seen, it’s goose - actually it’s two.
